    The Payments Association is a commercial membership association, exclusively serving the payments industry.     Babita is Head of Creative Diversity at Channel 4 – leading a team that sits at the heart of Channel 4. Working across all content commissioning teams to deliver the broadcaster’s commitment to  create change through entertainment, represent unheard voices and challenge with purpose.

    Babita and the team provide vital guidance and expertise on all aspects of inclusion and diversity to Channel 4’s commissioning team as well as its independent production partners. Babita also supports start-ups, Disability led, Black, Asian and minority led and regionally based companies with the TV Industry. Central to the team’s strategic focus is championing projects and talent to increase representation, promote greater inclusion and tell authentic stories that truly represent the whole UK. Babita works with partners across the industry to attract, retain and develop talent from underrepresented backgrounds to increase representation and career progression in production crews. Babita is a member of the Edinburgh TV Festival  Foundation board, Grierson DocLab Advisory Group and The Broadcast Journalist Training Council.

    Lewis is the Founder and CEO of Hullo, a not-for-profit organisation which launched in March 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. He has been actively involved in the charity sector since the age of 18, and prior to launching Hullo, was a Director at a small children’s charity.

    Outside of Hullo, Lewis is a second-year law student at the University of Durham, holds several NED and advisor positions at charities and start-ups, and enjoys cooking, watching Netflix and learning new things. Additionally, Lewis has given TEDx talks and key notes on mental health, social impact and entrepreneurship and strives to champion young people throughout his work.

    Richard is UK Managing Director of Executive Channel Network (ECN), which is the UK & Europe’s leading digital out of home (DOOH) office media network. ECN’s managed content platform runs in more than 550 premium offices in London and other leading European cities.

    An advertising industry veteran, Richard has amassed 40 years experience working in the Out of Home media sector.

    He has worked for and held some of the most senior management roles at a long list of blue chip communication companies including British Transport Advertising, Maiden Outdoor, WPP, and prior to joining ECN he led the commercial development of MediaCo Outdoor a nascent Manchester based DOOH business where he navigated the company throughout its growth phase and then to its eventual sale to Ocean Outdoor.

    Richard is married with three sons, lives in Wiltshire and is a lifelong supporter of Manchester United.

    Dr Shaun Davis MA, MBA, MA, MSc, MA, LLM
    CDir, FIoD, CFIOSH, FCIPD, FIIRSM, FICA

    One of a relatively small number of Chartered Directors and a Fellow of The Institute of Directors Shaun has a wide portfolio of responsibilities across the Royal Mail Group; his responsibilities include safety, health, wellbeing and sustainability. He is also a Chartered Fellow of The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, a Chartered Fellow of The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, a Fellow of The International Institute of Risk and Safety Management and a Fellow of The International Compliance Association.

    Joining Royal Mail Group in September 2012 Shaun has led many improvement programmes across a range of areas – contributing to improvements in accident prevention and a reduction in road traffic collisions. Shaun has led an organisation wide attendance improvement programme as part of a broader wellbeing and health promotion agenda, with particular attention being paid to mental health, musculoskeletal issues and issues affecting an ageing workforce.

    Will Ghali is CEO of Ecosurety, responsible for leading the Ecosurety team and the strategic direction of the company. He ensures that Ecosurety continue to deliver the highest level of transparency and service to members whilst fulfilling Ecosurety’s purpose to enable change for good, to make a positive impact on the quality of recycling.

    After graduating with a BSc. in Management Sciences from the University of Warwick, Will started a career in marketing at Unilever before holding senior marketing roles in large, branded consumer goods businesses such as Reckitt Benckiser, PepsiCo and Associated British Foods, as well as smaller entrepreneurial businesses such as Cobra Beer. After a 20-year career in marketing, Will has spent nine years in strategy and leadership roles, helping businesses such as Pukka Herbal Teas to grow and evolve.

    Will is not only passionate about developing teams and enabling people to play to their strengths to improve the business, he is also driven to ensure that businesses are ethical and sustainable.

    Outside work, Will loves being outdoors walking and cycling in the countryside.

    Neil Harris is the Group Chief Commercial Officer at Global Processing Services (GPS), an industry-leading issuer processor that provides payment technology and alternative banking solutions to programme managers and the largest Fintechs and ‘next generation’ banks globally.

    With over 18 years of experience in the payments industry, Neil’s key focus has been on driving positive change within the payments industry, initiating collaboration between influential peers to support financial inclusion initiatives and building customer success by delivering added value through his extensive knowledge of the payment space and emerging technologies.

    As founding Chair of the Inclusion Foundation, Neil is part of the leading taskforce that has developed a new industry kitemark, education materials and comparison services. The Foundation is a Not for Profit Social Enterprise and with a mission is to unite the 1.23 million unbanked and the 13 underserved adults in the UK with the financial services that are right for them and their needs.

    In 2020, Neil was recognised for his contributions to the industry as the Industry Contributor of the year at the Emerging Payments Awards and was awarded the Payments Pioneer Award by the Payments Awards. In 2021, Neil was awarded the Paytech Leadership Award, 2021.

    Andy has worked in the insurance and risk management sectors for 30 years. He is currently CEO of Cardinus Risk Management, part of AmWins, a global insurance and risk operation.

    He has operated at main board level of a FTSE 250 plc as well as an AIM listed entity and has founded and sold a number of companies in the insurance profession. He has written widely on insurance risk management issues and has specific expertise in speciality commercial insurance as well as compliance and governance risk. Andy is a IIRSM Council member as well as a Trustee of The Alchemy Charitable Trust and a Non-Executive Director of Risk Alliance Group.

    Shaun is passionate about the contribution that Manchester Central makes to the city’s economy and works to ensure the venue sits at the heart of the local business community whilst maintaining its standing as a leading international convention centre.

    As Vice Chair of the Association of Event Venues (AEV) and Board Member of the Events Industry Alliance (EIA) Shaun lobbies for greater recognition for the UK events industry and the role that it plays in underpinning national economic performance.

    Prior to joining Manchester Central, Shaun led international operations at BridgeStreet Global Hospitality and has more than 25 years’ experience working across hospitality, property and business service sectors.

    Prior to this he led a strategic consultancy business in the world of major events, entertainment, tourism & hospitality sectors. He led major event bids fo London including bringing the NFL to London to play regular season games. Projects have also included working with; Red Bull, Live Nation, the RFU, London 2012 & Its Legacy Company, Formula 1 and the next phase of development at The O2 with AEG Europe. He was also a Founding Director of Jamie Oliver’s events catering company Fabulous Feasts. Previous to this he was Commercial Director of London & Partners.

    Andrew is Chief Executive of One Dance UK, the national support organisation for dance in the UK. He is proud to be the Chairman of Company Chameleon, a non-Executive Director of Dance Consortium, and a professional trustee for the charity AWA Dance (Advancing Women’s Aspirations in Dance). He is currently completing the MBA for Senior Leaders in Arts & Culture, is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and was awarded an MBE in the New Year’s Honours list 2020 for ‘services to Dance, particularly during the Covid-19 Response’.

She is a Clore Social Leadership Fellow, strategic advisor to local and national government departments, Chair of the Scottish Government’s Lifelong Engagement in Volunteering Working Group and Trustee of Say Women.

    Tanya is the MD of the Corporate Affairs + Advisory practice at H+K London bringing together corporate and public affairs; training; issues and crisis management; internal communications; behaviour change; and diversity and inclusion.

    She started her career a journalist before serving as Press Secretary initially to a Cabinet Minister and then, for over four years, to the Prime Minister. Since leaving the civil service she has worked at senior levels both in house and in agency working with a range of organisations and institutions in public, private and NGO sectors.

    She has extensive experience providing senior counsel to a range of organisations helping to manage risk and restore, build and protect the reputations. She helps clients tell their stories with credibility and authenticity to colleagues, customers, journalists, investors or political and regulatory stakeholders.

    A South African by birth and a Londoner in her soul, she has lived and worked in Paris, Pakistan and Hong Kong.

    Among her many extra-curricular activities, Tanya sits on the board of the Thomson Foundation which works to raise standards of journalism across the world; the Cherie Blair Foundation for Women which supports women in low and middle income countries; the London Philharmonic Orchestra; and London Sport which is working to make London the most active city in the world.

Her pioneering approach has created a global business that works with some of the world’s biggest brands including HSBC, Nissan, OREO, Peloton, Keurig Dr Pepper, Smirnoff and Visa to ensure their social media is creating genuine human connections with consumers.

    In 2013, she co-founded her second company, Polpeo, which helps brands withstand a crisis breaking on social media through the use of simulation technology.

    Sarah became Chief Executive of MOSL, the Market Operator for the Retail water market for Business customers, in June 2019. Her focus is on driving collaboration to ensure that the Water market delivers on its commitments to customers and uses its position of independence to advance simple and effective water markets for the benefit of business customers.

    With a doctorate in Environmental Engineering, Sarah worked for Thames Water for 24 years in a wide variety of roles, leading teams of up to 3000 people in both technical and operational areas. After 8 years leading Asset Management functions, Sarah led the development of the company’s Business Plan. Sarah was then Head of Strategy developing the corporate strategy for the board of Thames Water. Sarah was also responsible for the programme management of the preparations for Market Opening in April 2017. Sarah joined the executive team at Thames Water in April 2017 as Managing Director of Water, with executive accountability for the treatment and delivery of clean, safe drinking water to over 9 million customers in London and the Thames Valley, and then as the Director accountable for all Asset Management, Strategic business planning, science, engineering, Health and Safety and Innovation.

    Lawson Muncaster is one of the most recognized and well-connected men in the British media. He is one of the founders of City AM, Britain’s most widely-read daily business newspaper, and has been managing director of the paper since its inception in 2005. In that time, the paper has grown in circulation, influence and profitability, and is currently embarking on a major investment in its on-line presence.

    A native of Largs, Scotland, his extensive media career began at Scottish TV in 1988, and was followed by a move to London, where he worked for Eurosport. He was promoted to UK sales director for Eurosport, before becoming sales director with outdoor advertising company, Mills and Allen, in 1997. He moved back to television in 1999, joining the cable network CNN as sales director covering the UK and Scandinavia . Prior to the foundation of City AM, he was vice-president of global sales for the free newspaper group, Metro International.

    Aged 50, Lawson is married with four children and has homes in London and North Berwick. He is a single figure golfer and he supports Celtic FC.

    Prior to this he worked at the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) for almost 16 years. He undertook a variety of roles such as the Managing Director of their commercial company and their Director of Operations. He led on business growth and strategic development across CIPFA’s commercial business as well as the delivery of their member services.

    She was the founder and sole owner of the Breakthrough Group, which grew from a two-person operation in her conservatory in 2015 to a highly profitable multi-million pound business. It was sold to EY (Ernst and Young) in 2020.

    Sue has appeared as a guest on every national television and radio news programme in the UK from Sky News, Radio 5 Live and Radio 4’s Today Programme to The Culture Show, BBC Breakfast and The Politics Show.

    Trewin Restorick is Founder and CEO of the charity Hubbub UK www.hubbub.org.uk which transforms the way environmental messages are communicated by bringing people and organisations together as a force for good. In 2020, Hubbub won Charity of the Year and Trewin was recognised with a Leader of the Year award.

    Trewin has a track-record of creating successful environmental enterprises including PaperRound a flourishing recycling business and Global Action Plan a long-established environmental charity. These enterprises were created built on experience gathered through roles he filled at Friends of the Earth where he was Director of Fundraising and at Plymouth City Council where he supported the creation of new social enterprises.

    Trewin is a frequent media commentator on environmental issues and was trained by Al Gore as one of his climate change ambassadors. He is currently an environmental advisor to a Tetra Pak, the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation and the National Lottery Climate Fund.

She has 35 years’ experience in senior finance, commercial and strategic posts at a number of commercial organisations including Novartis Pharmaceuticals (Switzerland), Cadbury Schweppes, Granada plc and Unilever/ Bestfoods (Thailand, Netherlands and UK). Much of her working life has been spent overseas.

He was named in the CityAM Top 100 Entrepreneurs, as well as winning awards at the 2013 Great British Entrepreneur Awards, 2019 British Asian Business Awards and was recently shortlisted as a 2021 SPIA Sport Business Leader.

    Richard is part-time CEO of the Honorary Treasurers Forum. Trained as a production manager he has worked and volunteered for much of his career in the voluntary sector. He has a wealth of experience in charities, social enterprises, and subsidiary companies. Working at both a strategic and tactical level with a focus on collaboration, Richard was Director of Enterprise at NCVO for 14 years, following 18 years as a director at the conservation charity BTCV. In 1986, he founded a youth enterprise charity Business Launchpad and is currently a trustee of RVS, the London Wealth Centre and TIN Foundation.

    During the Covid Pandemic, FlyEliteJets has been proud to assist Governments and private clients with emergency repatriation flights bringing families home from South America, South East Asia and Africa before national lockdowns shut borders.

    Christopher is married with 2 children and lives in Bath. When time allows, Christopher maintains his passion for flying helicopters

    Joining financial services in 1989 stuart has carved a career in National distribution and training. A seasoned conference speaker around the UK, and a regular panelist, judge and feature writer in various trade publications. During the last 10 years he has focused entirely on “Later Life” issues for consumers, winning multiple awards and a member of the Equity Release Council “Standards Board”. In 2018 he sold a stake in his company to the Key Group and is now CEO of Air Group.

    Married, with 3 adult daughters, 2 dogs and 6 classic cars , he lives near the Wye Valley in Gloucestershire.


Judging Information

  • The Covid Response Awards will be judged independently by an esteemed panel of industry CxOs from across a wide range of market sectors.
  • The scoring will all be conducted online, without any reference to other scorers and based solely on the submission of the entrant. This will ensure the scores are unbiased and judges are not swayed by the opinions of other panel members.
  • Each entry will be scored by at least 4 independent judges. The organisers will collate the individual scores and use the average marks given to initially decide the finalists and ultimately to determine the award winners.
  • If there is particular information contained within your entry that you do not wish to be made public please state this in the appropriate section on the entry form
  • Judges will absent themselves from any discussions where they have a vested interest.
  • The judges’ decision is final, no correspondence will be entered into and no reasons given for decisions.
