Babita is Head of Creative Diversity at Channel 4 – leading a team that sits at the heart of Channel 4. Working across all content commissioning teams to deliver the broadcaster’s commitment to create change through entertainment, represent unheard voices and challenge with purpose.
Babita and the team provide vital guidance and expertise on all aspects of inclusion and diversity to Channel 4’s commissioning team as well as its independent production partners. Babita also supports start-ups, Disability led, Black, Asian and minority led and regionally based companies with the TV Industry. Central to the team’s strategic focus is championing projects and talent to increase representation, promote greater inclusion and tell authentic stories that truly represent the whole UK. Babita works with partners across the industry to attract, retain and develop talent from underrepresented backgrounds to increase representation and career progression in production crews. Babita is a member of the Edinburgh TV Festival Foundation board, Grierson DocLab Advisory Group and The Broadcast Journalist Training Council.
